For a painter of landscapes and wildlife, America offers endless possibilities.  Mountains, deserts, valleys, rivers and creeks each have their own magic.  The magnificent wildlife that inhabit these places inspire wonder. They all beckon your soul to join them again and again.

While all but the few fortunate ones get to enjoy only brief, but cherished glimpses of these spiritual places, it is possible to take a small piece of them home with us. We capture them in our memories, photographs and sometimes, a creation on canvas inspired by their beauty.

As you enter this site, you will view oil paintings of subjects primarily of the West. You will recognize works depicting New Mexico, Colorado,  Utah, Wyoming, Arizona, Texas and Oklahoma.  As Gary Byrd continues his travels gathering more material this list will hopefully grow. There is so much to see and only one life time in which to see as much as one can.
